There are five major areas to a person’s life – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational. Each of these areas must be given consistent, frequent attention in order for a person to live a balanced life and to feel healthy and in sync with their life. Encouraging and supporting a client’s pursuit of finding this balance by setting specific goals is the focus of Sherry’s work with each client.

PHYSICALA body which is functioning properly helps us feel whole, healthy, and happy. Each person chooses goals around activities such as: exercise, healthy eating, sleeping, and improving his/her physical environment.

MENTALResearch has shown that the mind must remain active and alert throughout our lifetimes for optimum longevity. Keep sharp by reading more, doing puzzles, taking a class or learning a new skill. Keep the mind growing and learning.
EMOTIONALFind time for activities that bring joy and “nurture you,” bringing a smile to your face and heart each day. Gardening, time with family and friends, and hobbies – even for just a few minutes a day – can relieve stress and bring balance to life.
SPIRITUALThis is a very individual matter and may speak to a Higher Power or something bigger and more influential than ourselves: Something or Someone that gives a person an anchor or guide in their life – a striving for meaning, motivation, and accountability.
RELATIONALNo one is an “island unto themselves” – and personal relationships give quality and fullness to our lives. Focus on making significant people feel respected, cared-for, and a priority. Connect regularly with these special people.
